Intra-Specific Interactions American Black Bears are very interactive with there own species. Mothers are extremly protective of there young and the young don't leave there mothers until there told to. The males fight when they want a female and whoever wins gets the girl, the other male is most likly dead. Although Black Bears interact with eachother they are mostly indiviual animales.

Inter-Specific Interactions They say if you encounter a bear that you should make sure that your not by cubs and a mother because those are the most dangerous thing. It's true, mothers are extremely protective of their cubs, which is also something that makes them a K strategy animal. In terms of American Black Bears interacting with other species it is usually in the sense they are being eaten by the bears. They are after all on the top of the food chain.
