Habitat
American Black Bears live in forests with many trees because they have speacial claws that give them the abilty to climb. These temperate forests that these bears live in all across North America are reason that bears hibernate in the winter. The temperate forest has deciduous trees, that lose there leaves in the winter, which is very cold in the forest. As a result American Black Bears have adapted to their enviorment and they hibernate during the winter. These forests also most likely have a river or water source that the bear can access easily because fish are a main part of there diet.
