This diagram is of the digestive system of an American Black Bear. Obviously, the organs used are the same ones used for digestion in humans and other mammals. The digestive system for an American Black Bear has to work quickly due to the fact that when Black bears eat they gorge themselves, meaning they might not always be constantly eating lots of food, but when they do eat - they eat tons. An American Black Bear's digestive system is also incredibly strong. The bear's diet is all over the place with different plants, fish, other mammals and human food if available. This range of foods and chemical compostitions requires a digestive system that can digest all of it, and an American Black Bear's system can. An American Black Bear also has something called an elongated digestive system in order to accommodate the variety of foods consumed, specifically the different types of plants.
