American Black Bears are tertiary consumers, meaning they eat plants and animals. As said in the ecology section, bears live in temperate forests near fresh water in order to have plants, land animals and fish. Recently, developers have been increasingly interested in forests land, in turn where Black Bears build there homes and where they hibernate. Today, constantly forests are being destroyed and Black Bears are being pushed more towards cities and civilization in order to get food. This is the reason Black Bears are being spotted in people's backyards and gradens, they are being pushed out of their homes so they have resorted to coming into ours and that reason is for food.
